Does our new technology promote security for humans?

In today’s society, security is one of the most common concerns for many people. This is not only the case in homes, but also places of work, businesses, and public function venues. Despite the fact that crime rates are low in some places, you can never overlook security in such areas.

Thanks to technological innovations, however, humans can rest easy in their homes, offices, or in public gatherings as far as their security is concerned.

Today, even parents can feel comfortable sending their kids to study in distance institutions that they believe employ top of the art school security systems to ensure that their children’s security is assured and that it is the responsibility of educators to ensure that it remains so.

In this age and day, from custom surveillance systems to smart locks, panic buttons, metal sensors, and smart alarms, there are many tech products and systems that are geared to promoting human security and safety.

This having been said, here are some pointers you should check out on how technology promotes security for humans.

Smart Door Locks

This is perhaps one of the most common yet important pieces of technology that improves security in places of business as well as homes and public institutions such as schools.

These include locks that utilize Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and sometimes require a secret passcode or fingerprint recognition to open or lock.

Some of them are designed to connect with (home) automation systems so that they can trigger the various electronic appliances such as AC units and heaters to switch to economical mode upon detecting your absence from the home.

Smart Cameras

Security cameras have over the last few years, been a popular choice among homeowners, property management agencies, and businesses to improve security in their premises.

Thanks to tech advancements, however, today, we have smart cameras, some of which can be integrated with Wi-Fi and Internet technology so you can receive a live stream of what’s going on your property from your phone even from halfway across the world.

Security cameras keep burglars and other bad guys away since they know they can easily be tracked down and arrested once captured on camera in their malicious acts.

Home Sensors and Motion Detection

Technology has also brought us a wide variety of products that can enhance your security by simply detecting movement or sensing the presence of an individual in the wrong place at the wrong time.

For instance, lights that turn on or off by detecting motion are available today, some of which are connected to burglar alarms.

Also, there are sensors that can be programmed to close or open doors automatically upon detecting unusual motion.

Some utilize programmable systems that can be set to send you an email or SMS alert whenever there’s a security breach.

AI in Gate Access

Especially in public institutions or company, or real estate property that is used by a lot of people, there’s often a need to control who gets in and out from the gate access or main entrance.

Today, AI technology-based systems that can be installed on main entrances are also available. In most cases, one requires to use a smart key to gain access to the premises.

Some also use more sophisticated access methods such as vehicle recognition, fingerprint scanners, and iris scanners, making it difficult for anyone to enter the property unauthorized.

With these in place, your property is less of an easy target for burglars, spies, and other bad guys.

Each and everywhere you go, your security is one of the most important things. It is also crucial in your business, place of work or property. With the above being just a few examples, there are many evident ways through which security improves human security.
