By: Aine Mori Fharney Last updated on September 30th, 2019

Planning a vacation can be exhausting, costly and so much of a hassle that many people have now resorted to staycations instead. You get to sit back, relax and go at your own pace without having to make use of every second exploring a new city. Your staycation can sometimes even be more exciting if planned correctly. Here are some fun and frugal things you can do to make the most of your staycation:

Discover the hidden gems of your area

It is very easy to take the area you’re living in for granted and postpone exploring it properly because it’s always there. Now is the time to find those hidden gems, cool restaurants, antique shops or come up with a favorite spot. Exploring every inch of the city will help you discover areas you didn’t even know existed and places that you can add to your daily life in the future.

Try something new

There’s something awfully an exciting about taking risks or trying something new for the first time. The adrenaline rush and the euphoria that comes with it is one of the things that you’d really enjoy on your staycation. Whether it’s riding a motorcycle or going bungee jumping, there are endless ways to get that natural high. If you’re looking for something a little less adventurous, you can consider going to a casino or even downloading a 918 Kiss game to give you the same effect. The adrenaline rush you get with every bet you place and those moments you wait to see the results are a great form of excitement. Whatever you decide to do, trying something for the first time or making new memories sounds like a pretty good staycation.

Spend some time in nature

Whether you decide to go camping or just lose yourself in the woods, there’s no better way to break free from the noise inside your head than by surrounding yourself with nature. Depending on the areas around you, you can go for a hike, a dip in the lake or even bird watching.

Check out your local festivals

During the holidays there are usually many activities organized by the locals to make your staycation exciting. You’ll find music festivals, eating festivals or just a bunch of people who are looking for a reason to put on a show and party the night away. So put your dancing shoes on and get ready to party.

Perfecting the art of napping

Without a care in the world and nothing important to do, you can take as much time as you want to nap. Try napping in a hammock or underneath a tree until you’ve found the perfect spot to take a long, deep nap. The longer the nap, the better your staycation.

A staycation doesn’t have to be boring but can be fun, carefree and inexpensive. Whether you choose to plan it day by day or just go with the flow, you can have the best holiday just relaxing and enjoying the things you take for granted.
